Loyalty goes Taiwan

Together with Ice Mobile we’ve created a loyalty program for PXMart, a supermarket chain in Taiwan. In the physical campaign kids could collect Stikeez: small fruit and vegetable shaped suction cup characters.

In the physical campaign kids could collect Stikeez: small fruit and vegetable shaped suction cup characters. We were asked to enrich this experience with a webbased app.

Every Stikee could be unlocked in the game. When the player unlocked a new Stikee, they had to care for the character to make it evolve into the next phase. When the Stikee was fully grown, it was added to the face-filter part of the web-app and the next Stikee was ready to be planted.

To grow the Stikeez, players had to play three games:

To water the plant the players had to catch water drops in a bucket. This was controlled by the gyroscope in the mobile phone.

To give the plant enough sunlight, they had to move the sun through a cloud parcour (think Flappy Bird).

And to make certain there was no vermin, the players had to shoot the bugs from the root of the plant.

The app was developed using the Phaser javascript framework. This meant that the application was hardware accelerated and could use animation libraries like Spine. The face filters were also developed in javascript and could be used without any additional social network.
